Pichwai, literally meaning “that which hangs from the back”. Pichwai is a style of painting that originated in the town of Nathdwara near Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Originally these Intricate and
visually stunning pichwai paintings were made on cloth, depicting tales from Lord Krishna & life. Here the Artist is depicting a vibrant Buddha face surrounded by Pichwai style Lotus flower. Since Buddhism is an integral part of Taiwanese Culture, Buddha is included in the painting to highlight this part of their culture.

Pichwai,字面意思是“掛在後面的東西”。 Pichwai是一種繪畫風格,起源於印度拉賈斯坦邦烏代布爾附近的Nathdwara鎮。最初,這些錯綜複雜且視覺上令人驚歎的皮奇瓦伊畫作是在布上製作的,描繪了克里希納勳爵生活中的故事。在這裡,藝術家描繪了一個充滿活力的佛臉,周圍環繞著Pichwai風格的蓮花。由於佛教是臺灣文化不可分割的一部分,因此在繪畫中包括佛陀以突出其文化的這一部分。
